Peacefully at Granite Ridge (GR) Long Term Care on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the tender age of 94 years young. Lynn is predeceased by her father and mother, Thomas and Lucy Priest (Wigan, England), her husband of 32 years, Rheal “Ray” Sabourin, infant son Peter, grandson Cory Hartin and sister-in-law Florence Sabourin. Loving Mum of Michael (Susan), Paul (Patricia), Gerry (Marg), Ron (Fran), Suzanne (Dave Lalonde), Bob (Maureen), Carol (Guy Thurston), Lise (Ron Hartin), Linda (Mark Armstrong) and Yvonne (Tom Pierce). Sister in law to Simone Leger. Very proud Nan to 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Lynn led a full life beginning with joining the British Women’s Auxiliary force (WAAF); long time swim instructor and bus driver to many of Carp’s youth. Past employee of Sperry Gyroscope and a beef farmer. Her favourite pastimes were to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at her cottages, travelling, cooking and pie making. Lynn was a true matriarch, nurturing and enjoying her family over the years. The family would like to extend their heart-felt thanks and gratitude to the staff at GR for their loving care and support over six years and especially in the last few days. Visitation will be held at the Carp Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington St., Carp on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St-Isidore Roman Catholic Parish, 1135 March Rd., Kanata on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Notre-Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
