Lucja (Lucy) Koziol
After a period of failing health, Lucy died at the Westboro Park Retirement Residence in Ottawa on September 25, 2022.
Survived by her son, Tony (Nathalie), grandchildren, Adam (Carole), Lisa, and Mary (Farid), step-grandchild, Élodie, and great-granddaughter, Charlotte. Predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Jan, her daughter-in-law, Nancy, her brothers, Andrzej and Jozef, and her parents, Stanislaw and Jadwiga.
Lucy was born on December 7, 1924 in Sroda, Poland. As a result of World War II, she and her immediate family were forced to leave Poland, eventually arriving in England. She met her husband there and got married in 1948. In 1952, they emigrated to Canada, settling in Hamilton, Ontario. Retirement in 1986 led to a move to Toronto and then to Ottawa in 2021.
Lucy had a full life, well lived.
Cremation has taken place.
