CAPES, Lucille Mary
(nee Gregoire)
November 25, 1927 – May 10, 2022
It is with deep sadness that Lucille’s family announces her passing at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Howard Capes and predeceased by parents Adelor and Bernadette Gregoire (nee Leblanc), and sisters Audrey (Jack) Misener and Rose (Herb) Faust. Loving mother to Lynne, Nancy and Alan. Cherished Nana to granddaughters Charlynne Darvill Emmanuel (Flo) and Casey Darvill Forth (Jonathon), and greatgrandchildren Alysia and Jenessa Emmanuel and Kyleigh, Sierra and Jaedon Forth. Lucille took great pleasure in family gatherings and enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends. As well as her adventures with her Red Hat Society friends, she loved to take trips and learn historical facts of the destination (remember the locks!). She also enjoyed knitting, mostly hats and mitts for the family, and sweaters for the dogs and one Racoon Teddy!. Thanks to the nurses and PSWs for their help during her brief stay at Viva Barrhaven and especially to Dr. Andrea MacDonald. Deepest appreciation to Nova from Carefor for her compassion during Lucille’s final hours. Friends may visit at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service to be held at St. Basil’s Church, 940 Rex Ave. (enter from Maitland Ave.) on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road. Masks are required in the church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated. Condolences or donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
