It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lorraine Davies on August 17, 2013 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital Emergency Department, despite heroic efforts made by the staff. Born to the late Arnold A Cluett and the late Fanny Cluett (nee MacDonald) in Sydney, Nova Scotia on February 9, 1938 she is also predeceased by her brother Donald Cluett. Beloved and cherished wife of John W Davies for 45 years. Loving and wonderful mother to Jeffrey D Davies (Stephanie). Fondly remembered by her granddaughters Angela Davies Anemaet (Jeremy) and Carys Davies. Lorraine will also be sadly missed by cousins Jack MacDonald, Sonny Cluett, Gerald Cluett, George Cluett and in the USA Walter Cluett, Suzie Cluett, Mala Vernon along with many close friends. Lorraine was a dedicated employee of Health Canada where she was Director of Emergency Services for several decades and enjoyed the respect of Provincial counterparts. She was in great demand internationally as a consultant by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and enjoyed close collaboration with Emergency Services in the U.S.A. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baesline Rd.), Nepean on Wednesday, Sept 4, 2013 from from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 12 noon. If desired, donations in her name can be made to the Children’s Hospital or to the May Court Hospice at 114 Cameron Ave.
