Mahoney, Lorna Mary

(Nee Brennan)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorna at the age of 80. She left us peacefully on December 30, 2020 in the comfort of home and surrounded by her loving family after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

Lorna was born on July 22, 1940, the first child to Mary Gannon and Victor Brennan. She was born and raised on the Gannon family homestead on the Martindale Road in Low Quebec. Mom carried the values she learned in childhood all the days of her life.

She married Alvin, the love of her life, on September 2, 1961. Alvin predeceased her in July 2019 after 58 years of marriage. They shared a great love and she missed him every day after. We find peace knowing they are reunited in heaven. They are also both now reunited with their adored daughter Shelley. Lorna had a very strong faith that she leaned heavily on during difficult times.

Loving Mom to Stephanie (Andy Roche), Shelley (deceased 2005) (Paul Campbell) and Stephen (Francine). A cherished Granny to her grandchildren, Sabreena and Kieran Charlebois, Hailey Campbell, Joshua, Megan, Shane and Sarah Mahoney.

Forever remembered by her beloved siblings, Mervin Brennan (deceased)(Shirley), Irvin Brennan (Carolyn), and her sister and best friend Eleanor Simard (Roger). Dear friend and sister-in-law to Madonna Sullivan, Louisa Milani (Lorne), Claire Robitaille and Shirley Mahoney.

Lorna was an adored aunt to many nieces and nephews. They will all miss her kindness and love. Lorna was also blessed with many childhood great friends and new friends that became old friends wherever she went! She was loved by so many!

The family is forever grateful for the medical care that supported them in keeping Lorna at home. Especially Janet from Bayshore Home Care and Dr. Douglas.

Due to Covid19, a private funeral mass will be held for the immediate family with a public memorial mass and interment at St. Martin’s Church, Low, Quebec in the spring. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Hospice at May Court.
