Lois Kalverda

Lois (Dwoukje) Kalverda of Parry Sound, died Sunday, October 6th, 2013 after a very long and courageous fight with cancer age 92 years. Lois was born in De Haag, Netherlands on August 9, 1921. After surviving WWII as a resistance worker Lois and her husband Eric emigrated to Canada in 1954, living in New Liskeard until retiring to Ottawa in 1983. Lois moved to Parry Sound in 2011 where she was cared for by her daughter Diane (Todd) until her passing. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Eric, in 2000 and by sons Arnold (Sandra) in 2001, and John (Dianna) in 2012. Lois is survived by children Hans (Marie-Paule); Mary Gerbasi (Wayne); Henry (Filomena); Diane (Todd); and Steven (Loryanne) and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 1475 Merivale Rd., Ottawa on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated
