MARTIN – Lloyd Allan

After a lengthy battle with cancer, Lloyd passed away peacefully at the Bruy&egravere Hospital in Ottawa on June 11, 2016 at the age of 83. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Betty (née Wright); his children who admired and adored him David (Sylvie Gobeil), Shelley and Lianne (Bob Trerice); five grandsons whom he cherished Brian, Wesley, Neil, Robert and Ben. Beloved son of the late Gordon Martin and Theresa (née McNeil). Lloyd is also survived by his siblings Joyce (late Frank Bingham), Alec (Marilyn) and Doris (late Malcolm Harvey), sisters-in-law Audrey (late Fred Orton) and Jackie (John Wakeford), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was an Honours Electrical Engineering graduate from the University of Toronto, class of '55, and worked worldwide during his career (Shell Oil, RCA of Montreal and the Federal Government departments of ITC and CRTC). His sense of humour and zest for life were inspiring and we will forever cherish his example of integrity, perseverance and devotion to family. We are grateful for the compassionate care provided to him by Dr. Hovey and colleagues of the Manotick Medical Centre; the CCAC home health care team; Drs. Segal, Canil and Perry of the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre; Dr. Rice, Susan Shea and RPCT colleagues; the nurses and doctors of the Bruy&egravere Hospital; ROSSS and the staff at Orchard View on the Rideau. A celebration of Lloyd's life will take place at Manotick United Church on Saturday, June 25th: visitation at 10:30, service at 11:30, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, the Ottawa Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
