Morris, James Leslie (Les)
September 9, 1922 – February 18, 2020
Peacefully at the Perley Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre, on Tuesday February 18, 2020 at the age of 97. After the loss of his wife Phyllis in 2006, Les moved into Hyfield Place in Manotick, where he made many great friends and earned the nickname “The Sheriff” for his attempts at keeping the place “in order.” In early 2018, Les moved into the Perley, as a WW2 Veteran (during WW2 Les served in the RCAF BCATP. His younger brother Ken, and two step-brothers, joined the Canadian army, and all three were killed in action, and are buried overseas).
Les is survived by his sons Jim (Mary) of Manotick, and Bob (Shennon) of Port Dalhousie. He is also survived by his Grandchildren Samantha (Chris), Stephanie (Mani), Kristen and Jonathan; and his Great-grandchildren Jakob and Avery.
Many thanks to the awesome staff of the Perley Ottawa 2 East – a very special place and very special people.
