Lee Hodgins
November 5th 1941 - November 12th 2022
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Lee "Hodge" Hodgins on Saturday November 12th. Lee was born in Brockville to the late Don and Lon Hodgins. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years Sylvia, his children Blake (Rosie) and Bonnie (Chris). He was a proud Poppa to Mackenzie and Hayden.
He was a dedicated high school teacher for over 30 years. Moreover, Lee always said that although teaching was his profession, coaching was his passion. He committed countless hours to coaching high school football, baseball, and track and field. He was the recipient of many awards throughout his coaching career. One of his highest honours was being selected for the Jim Coode Achievement Award by his peers; recognizing his outstanding devotion and contribution to the high school football program.
Lee will be remembered for his "witty" sense of humour, passion (obsession?) with sports, love of travel and winters in Florida. He spent many a night socializing with friends and family listening to Irish music at any local pub. Family and friends were foremost in his mind; sharing stories and adventures with everyone truly brought him happiness.
Friends may join in a reception at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, Nepean, 3440 Richmond rd. (between Bayshore & Baseline Rd.) on Friday, November 18th from 4 – 6 pm. As Lee would have wanted, we ask that everyone come in casual attire.
In memory of Lee, donations to Heart and Stroke and the Ottawa Food Bank would be appreciated. Tributes, donations, and condolences may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
