1942 – 2019

It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Wayne Crawford announce his passing on Friday, May 24th.  Wayne was surrounded by his family at home under the care of his loving wife of 56 years Jean (Bradbury).  Loving father of Debbie (Rick), Ken (Trish), Chris (Tammy) and Trina (David).  Cherished grandfather “Poppy” to Jenna (Ray), Tyler (Alyse) and Emily; Kassandra, Kaitlyn, and Michael; Gracie and Meghan; Joshua and Olivia; and proud great-grandfather to Margaret and Lacey.  Predeceased by his parents Kenneth Crawford and Margaret (Parke), survived by his brother Lawrence (Georgia) and sister Carolyn (Doug).  As a leading local electrical contractor, Wayne was well respected and liked by his peers.  He chaired both the Ottawa Construction Association (1997 & 1998), the Electrical Contractors Association of Ottawa (1998), and sat on the Canadian Construction Association Board of Directors (2000-2003).  Wayne took immense pleasure in building his firm, playing cards into the wee hours with his friends, and spending time working on his cattle farm.  During his retirement years he enjoyed spending time with his wife in Florida; golfing on both sides of the border; and in general spending time with his family.  Special thanks to C&M Electric’s associates and employees for their many years of support, kindness and friendship.  Friends may visit at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, on Wednesday, May 29th between 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm.  Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, May 30th at 11am.  Reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa would be appreciated.
