(Sgt. Ret'd)
Ken passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from renal failure, surrounded by loved ones at home. Ken was the only son of Violet (nee Jenkins) Pasher and Albert Boshart
Pasher, and was born in Montreal Quebec on October 25, 1931. Ken is survived by his only sister, Mrs. Joyce (Hanson) Read (Al, Sarnia On). Ken leaves behind his two daughters from his late wife Jean (Fournier of Buckingham), Brenda, and Wendy (Ron Higgins) and was a proud Poppa to their children Scott, Michael (Suzie Gauthier) and daughter Kerry who gifted him with a great-grandson, Dylan Roossien. He was Uncle Ken to Joyce's 3 children, Susan, Mark and Jeff. "Pash" loved, and was loved by so many of the Fournier Clan, all of who enriched his life for many years - especially at
the Norway Bay cottage. Ken also leaves behind his cherished companion Helen Cusiac, and remembered the late Orla Fletcher with great fondness. Ken joined the Armed Forces as a young man and served as a peacekeeper in Japan following WWII. Returning to Ottawa HQ, where he met Jean, a civilian member, and they married in 1954. He retired from military life in the early 70's after serving at both Base Gagetown (Oromocto, NB) and Fort Henry (Soest, Germany). Ken then worked for the Federal Court, and thoroughly enjoyed the fact that he could ‘arrest a ship', and after doing just that on several occasions; was quite happy to finally retire. As he did throughout his life, when not Jive Dancing, Ken continued to be an avid reader, crib, bridge and euchre player; and enjoyed golf and curling with family, friends or league play. In recent years he could most often be found at the Kanata Senior's Centre, with Helen. There are far too many persons to personally thank for the at-home care Ken received, but we would be remiss in not mentioning Jody and Susann - you both have earned your wings. Special thanks to Dr. Lunney and to the Ottawa Carleton Dialysis Clinic, for your compassion and caring. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) Nepean on Monday Nov 17th, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service in the chapel at 11 a.m. At Ken's request donations may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
