Karl-Heinz Schroeder

It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Karl-Heinz Schroeder, on the evening of January 26th, at the age of 95, surrounded by family. He was a loving husband, father, Opa, great Opa, and friend who lived a wonderful life.

Karl-Heinz was born in Hannover, Germany to the late Otto and Elsbeth Schroeder (nee Jenrich). Karl-Heinz is predeceased by his first wife Edith Schroeder (nee Schustereit) his brothers Werner and Manfred Schroeder, and his sons Lucien and Werner Schroeder. He was a devoted husband for 31 years to Maria Schroeder (nee Smits) (now deceased). He leaves behind his daughter Rita and son Michael, stepsons Glenn (Magali) and Roger (Pam) and his loving stepdaughter Marilyn (Kevin). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren John, Christopher, Jenna, James, Alex, Jenny, Tina, Jeremy, Chloe, Victoria, Aidan, Liam, Kate, Sean, Mathew, and Owen, and his 15 great grandchildren.

Karl-Heinz was a well known contractor in Ottawa and a member of the Concordia Male Chorus Ottawa, singing and dancing was his passion. He and his wife Maria enjoyed travelling and dancing while their health allowed them. The family would like to thank the staff at Symphony Senior Living for all of the care over the past few years.

A joint celebration of life will be held for Karl-Heinz and Maria at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, Ottawa, Ontario, 3440 Richmond Rd, from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th, 2025 .In lieu of flowers a donation to the Ottawa Heart Institute is appreciated.
