June Reed
(nee Rothwell, Allen)
Peacefully, on September 24, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family.
Married for 67 years to her soulmate Bert, until his passing in 2019. Much loved mother to Allen (Iryna) Reed, Brenda (Randy) Richardson, Robert Reed (deceased 1975) and Deb (Merlin) Knapton. June was very proud of her five grandchildren, Brad (Tisha) Richardson, Kate (Al) Bellemare, Christopher Reed, Ashley Knapton and James Knapton and four great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Sydney Richardson and Brayden and Lena Bellemare.
June was predeceased by her birth parents James & Violet (Quinney) Rothwell, her adoptive parents Fred & Annie (Rothwell) Allen, her sister Anne Allen (late Ted) and brothers Harvey (late Margaret), Victor (late Mildred), Fred (late Elaine), Jack (late Rita), Melvin (late Peg), and Robert (died in infancy). She will be missed and remembered by many nieces and nephews as well as her sister-in-law Helen (late Darragh) and brother-in-law Neville (Lynda). She was predeceased by sister-in-law Kathleen (late Frank).
June saw the good in all people and the positive in any situation, living her life with grace, strength and a wonderful sense of humour. She was an accomplished artist, craftsperson and seamstress. Always glad to help, she enjoyed volunteer work and sharing her time and talents with others. She worked tirelessly with Bert as they built a successful electrical contracting business and developed their industrial park. Above all else, she treasured her family and leaves a legacy of kindness and love that we will carry with us forever.
Many thanks to Dr. J. Milko for his compassionate care of Mom. Special thanks to the nursing and PSW staff at Orchard View on the Mississippi in Almonte for their exceptional care of Mom over the last two years and especially in the last week, you are truly angels.
