"With Christ which is far better".

On Sunday, August 27th, 2017, after a courageous fight with cancer, Julie went home to be with her Saviour. She was in her 49th year. Loving sister of Monique Nichols (Lorne), Francine Frechette (Dan) and Lou Frechette (Pam). Cherished aunt of Bonnie & Samantha, Christine, Mikey, Sonia, Chrystal, Christopher & Melody, Chelsea & Duncan, and a great aunt to many more nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean, on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 11 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Light refreshments to follow before interment at the Highland Park Cemetery in Carp, ON. In keeping with Julie’s exuberant personality and love for the colour purple, the family is asking that you wear purple in her honour. Donations may be made in Julie’s memory to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation or the Gideons.
Julie was never a mother, yet she was a mother to hundreds. She didn't have a best friend — everyone qualified. She never had money because she understood the value of giving. The blue fanny pack around her waist carried candies for those coughing, stickers and Band-Aids for hurting children, and extra Advil for their mothers. Her family, her Sunday School students, and her friends will miss her infectious laughter and super-sized heart.

Julie fully trusted her Lord. She placed her finances, her treatments, her surgeries, and her life completely in the hands of the One who died for her. Her favorite bible verse was "Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you", and Julie lived that daily.
Julie often mentioned how thankful she was for Dr. Song's care during her illness (Ottawa General - Oncology), and she so enjoyed bantering with Dr. Muhammed (Ottawa Civic - Neurosurgery). The family would also like to thank all the doctors and nurses on 8 West at the Ottawa General for their loving, compassionate care as Julie lost her battle.
