Joyce Marguerite Cook (née McCallum)

Peacefully in hospital on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 age 88 years. Beloved wife and best friend for more than 68 years of the late William (Bill). Loving mother of Kerry Lee Cook (Gandi Hammoud), and Kelly McKenna (Mike).Cherished Nana of Kira (Scott), Candice, Laura (Cody), Charlene (Brock) and Adam (Katie) and great grandmother (G-Nan) of Georgia, Adelaide, Olivia, Katie, Michaela, Sierra, Logan, Emmett, William, Alex and Jack.

Sister of Carol Brown (Bill Watson) and Judy Scharf (Mel). Sister-in-law to Barbara Tracey, Brian Cook (late Janet) and the late Bob Cook (late Audrey).Joyce will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Joyce loved fashion, was an avid curler and golfer, and enjoyed a good game of euchre or Texas hold ‘em. She loved animals, especially dogs and watching birds at the feeders. Joyce was a past-president of the Richmond Curling Club as well as representing the Ladies Curling Association and the Crystal Heart Bonspiel. She was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 625. She supported the Richmond community as a member of the 50th Anniversary Silver Stick Committee, the Richmond 175th and 200th Anniversary committees and was the inspiration for the community commemorative plaques in the Richmond Pavillion.

Friends may attend a visitation at St. John’s Anglican Church Hall, Richmond on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 3:30pm to 7:30pm.A Memorial service will be held   at St. John’s Anglican Church, 67 Fowler Street, Richmond, Ontario on Saturday January 18, 2025  at 11:00am followed by a reception at the Legion, 6430 Ottawa St., K0A 2Z0. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Anglican Church, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Ottawa Humane Society will be appreciated.
