Lessard, Joseph Honore Raoul “Ralph”

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Ralph on November 26, 2021 at the age of 90.

Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy, his parents Honore and Aurore and 2nd parents, Bertha and Rollie, and his sister Jean.

He will be sadly missed by his children Raymond (Kathy), Michael (Anne), Cathy (Kevin), Deborah (Jamie), Tommy, and extended family member Carol (Mike) as well as his thirteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.  Also, his brother-in-law Roger and many nieces and nephews.

Over his lifetime he served in the Canadian Army as a Warrant Officer 2 (WO2).  When he retired, he continued working with the Federal Government.  Retiring once again he then went on to work for the Commissionaires Corp and finally retired at the age of seventy-two.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors on D4 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for all their caring support through this difficult time.

The Westwood Retirement home where Ralph resided, for their daily care in making his stay feel like a home.

A special thank you also to Rhea, Ralph’s private home caregiver, who became family to us all.

Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 3 p.m. and a reception.  To attend the visitation, funeral and reception, proof of double vaccination and pre-registration is mandatory.  To view the double vaccination protocols and register, please scroll below or call 613-722-6559.  For those unable to attend a live-stream option of the service will also be available and may be accessed by scrolling below. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
