John Hamilton Quain
1930 – 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Hamilton Quain, 87, on the morning of March 14, 2018. An Ottawa lawyer and athlete, ‘Hammy' always left his mark. He was loyal, independent, kind, and above all, loved. A McGill law and accounting graduate, he was Partner at the prestigious Ottawa law firm, Quain & Quain, and then Quain Dioguardi. Ham was blessed with uncommon intelligence and made it his final journey to answer life's great questions. Ham was also a fierce competitor and won many tennis and squash championships, including local and national titles. He is survived by his brother, Redmond Quain and sister, Wendy Watson. He leaves behind his cherished three sons and their families: John Quain his wife, Mary Kathleen Flynn and their daughter, Samantha Quain; Patrick Quain, his wife, Nathalie Trepanier and their two daughters, Dominique and Isabella Quain; Nicholas Quain, his wife Stefanie Couture and their three sons Maxwell, Harrison and Zachary Quain. May he find peace with his beloved late wife, Randa. Visitation will be held at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Rd, Ottawa (At Roosevelt) on Sunday, March 18th, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Condolences, tributes and donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
