We are extremely saddened to announce the peaceful passing of John at the age of 88 with his loving wife Helen and their son David (Amy) by his side on Tuesday July 30th.
Proud Nonno of Danica, the apple of his eye. John is survived by his brother Raffaele (Laura) and a sister Diane. He was predeceased by his 4 sisters: Florence, Maria, Josephine, Barbara (Tony), and by his brother Frank (Madeline). He has many nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved dearly and enjoyed visiting with.
He was a very proud Italian man who grew up in Little Italy. He loved attending the Village Reunions and was also honoured as a Villager. John worked along side his cousins in the plaster and stucco business and was very proud of his work. He loved family get togethers and also enjoyed a good party. He was dedicated to his faith and was in regular attendance at St. Anthony’s Church from the time he was an altar boy to helping with Sunday mass’s until he was too sick to attend. He fought a long battle with prostate cancer. He made it known that he was not ready to leave this earth and he put up a good fight right until the very end. He had a gentle smile and he will be greatly missed by many who knew and loved him.
