Clark - John Frederick

Peacefully, surrounded by love, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in his 62nd year. Beloved husband of Deborah Maxwell. Survived by his mother Joan Clark, and his siblings Michael, Cathy, Jane (Rob Foster), Margaret, Bonnie (Ed Mitchell), Patricia and Jennifer (Dave Bakker); sisters-in-law Joan White (Rick) and Fran Maxwell (Bill MacDonald) and many nieces and nephews. John retired from the National Library of Canada where he was a serials cataloguer for nearly 30 years. He particularly enjoyed cataloguing Canadian newspapers making them accessible for genealogical researchers, and mentoring trainees. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 480 Westboro; volunteer for the Poppy Campaign and member of the Darts League; and volunteer for the OFNC Peregrine Falcon Watch for many years. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the A3 medical area at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their kindness to John. A memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion 480 Westboro, (second floor lounge), 391 Richmond Rd on Monday, October 5th at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society,245 W Hunt Club Rd., Ottawa, K2E 1A6 or the Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre, P.O. Box 11159, Nepean, K2H 7T9 would be appreciated
