GOTH John Charles
Saturday February 15, 1941 – Saturday April 11, 2020
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Charles Goth at the age of 79 due to kidney complications. Much appreciation to the Queensway Carleton ICU and Ottawa Hospital-General Campus for their efforts and care. John will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 47 years (together 51 years), Nancy Goth (Thompson).
Left to cherish his memory, his son James (Cathy) Goth, and daughters Patricia (Bruce) Hyndman, Angela (Robin) Goth-Caron, Amanda (Paul Winch) Goth. Proud grandfather of Emily (Chad) Windsor, Jessica (Ben) Chapin, John and Julia Goth-Caron, and Noah and Dylan Winch; and great-grandfather of Camden Windsor. Dear brother to Shirley (Gordon) Curling and Edna (André) Goyette; and will be also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Percy and May (Perkins) Goth.
John was unapologetic for his unique, against-the-norm style. “If you don’t like it, too bad.” He was an award-winning mechanic, having worked for the Department of Highways and numerous Ford Motor Company dealerships. He was passionate about everything Harley Davidson, “If you didn’t ride a Harley, you weren’t really riding a bike”. Dedicated to Ford, Ford parking only in his yard. And a life-long NASCAR fan, in his early life stock car racing #51 and #87 in Stittsville, Fulton and Evans Mills. Always together, Nancy and John travelled to Hawaii, Mexico, Barbados and for many years to Daytona for Bike Week.
Many thanks to the Civic, Queensway Carleton and General Hospital’s staff for their care over the years.
Private interment will take place at Malakoff Cemetery, with a celebration of life later.
In memory of John, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Heart Institute.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Tubman Funeral Homes, Kars Chapel. Tributes, condolences or donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com.
