It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John F. Burrows at the age of 68, although we are relieved his suffering has ended. So ends a fully lived life of well-worn ski boots, paddles, speedos, and "creative" carpentry. John will be missed by his mother Ethelda, his wife Johanna, his children Kristen (Jay), Erin (Chris), and Andrew, and daughter of the heart Yuliya Vidisheva. He was a devoted Poppa to Finley, Kalia, Miles and Owen - his most favorite people in the whole world. John also leaves his siblings Susan (Chris), Ian (Lori) and Barb (Stu), many cousins, nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by his father Dudley.
John's dedication and strong work ethic benefitted various committees and ski trails. His passions included white water kayaking, swimming, canoeing and cross-country skiing. John completed the Canadian Ski Marathon for the 16th time as a Courier du Bois just weeks before his brain tumor (Glioblastoma) diagnosis - his fitness and endurance should continue to be an inspiration to others.
We are deeply grateful to the palliative care team who supported us in keeping John at home.
