John Baird

A good and honourable man who loved his family.

Peacefully on Monday night, John R. Baird passed away April 21, 2104 at Granite Ridge.
Beloved husband of the late Erma Metcalfe. Loving father of Susan (Doug Rimmer) and John (Brenda Boothe) Baird of Carp, proud grandfather of Anne and James Rimmer, Elizabeth and Katie Baird and devoted and caring brother of Hazel Davis (late Gordie Davis). Fondly remembered by Stella (late Harvey Metcalfe) and Bill and Jean Metcalfe, Maxville. Will also be missed by dear friend Doug Greene. Caring uncle to several nieces and nephews. John was the younger son of the late John A. and Minnie (Smyth) Baird and brother of the late Melvin and late Evelyn (Miller) Baird of Carp. Heartfelt appreciation to Melissa Hall, and her kind and caring staff for their support to Dad and to his family at Granite Ridge. The family invites friends to join them for visitation at the Carp Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington Street, Carp, on Thursday May 1st, 7 - 9 pm and on Friday May 2, at St. John's Anglican Church, 1470 Donald B. Munro Dr., Carp from 10a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Those wishing may make donations to the Canadian Arthritis Society or St. John's Anglican Church c/o 1471 Donald B.
