John Donald Arbuckle

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Don Arbuckle on Monday, February 3rd at the Ottawa General Hospital. 

He was a loving husband to Neila for almost 67 years, a wonderful father to Stephen (Holly) and Jeffrey (Michelle), a proud grandfather to Landon (Chelsea) and Callie (Martin) and great-grandfather to Marlea and August. 

He leaves behind his beloved sister, Kathryn Henderson of Napanee and many nieces, nephews, and cousins across Canada. He is pre-deceased by his much- loved sister Janet Lascelle. 

Don worked for all levels of government, first as a draftsman and then as a computer programmer. He earned his BSc from Carleton University. He volunteered with the Riverside Park Minor Hockey Association where he served as President, then again with the Carleton Heights Curling Club.

 Don had a great sense of humour, a dry wit and a love of one- liners. He will be remembered as a loyal husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Don will be missed by many. 

His wish was to be cremated. A small gathering will be held in the spring to honour his life.
