Joan McClelland (née Carson)

Peacefully on October 10th, 2021, at the age of 83, with family by her side. Joan was the beloved wife of Bryce for 61 years. Loving daughter of the late Harold and Lois Carson. Predeceased by her brother Douglas Carson.

She was the proud and devoted mother of Laurie (Mark), Neil (Kay) and Grant (Fiona). She loved and was much loved by her grandchildren, Philippe (Naomi), Kristen (Chris), Janelle, Amanda, Elyssa (Chris), Tristan, Hugh and Jane. Great grandmother to Rory and Jack. Loving aunt to niece Brenda Morrison and nephews Chris, David and Ronald Carson and sister-in-law to Verna and Bethel McClelland.

Joan graduated nursing in 1959 and had a long and productive career at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, first as an OR nurse and then as the Head Nurse of the Department of Angiography. Joan was known by all as kind, compassionate and had a wonderful sense of humour. Our family would like to thank the staff at the CHSLD Renaissance d’Aylmer on the first and third floor for their outstanding and compassionate care of Joan. The family will be having a private service. Those wishing may make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society.
