1932-2022

Passed away peacefully at the Salvation Army Grace Manor on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the age of 90.  Loving mother of Christine (Don Graham), Kathy Aubrey- Moore (Bill), Brent (Jana) and Brad.  Proud grandmother of Melissa, Derek (Jessica), Kelsey (Matt), Ryan (Amy), Dylan, Kyle (Jackie), Malorie (Jimmy); great grandmother of Keegan (Hayley), Will, Sophie, Bennett, Molly, Quinton and great great-grandmother of Joseph.  Cherished sister of Charles Wicker (Linda) and sister in-law of Claudette (Joe), Linda (Joe), and Larry (Lise).  Predeceased by her husband of 26 years Henry Aubrey, her parents Charles and Mae Emma Wicker, son-in-law Frank Schroeder and her sister Doreen “Dodie” Taylor (the late Don).  Joan will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  The family wishes to thank the staff at the Salvation Army Grace Manor for their care and compassion over the past eight years.  Family and friends are welcome to attend the memorial mass at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 1303 Leaside Ave, Ottawa on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception.  For those unable to attend the mass in person a live stream option will be available. Live-streaming of the church service can be accessed from St. Elizabeth Parish site on Facebook.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB or Fighting Blindness Canada in Joan’s memory.
