Date of death : December 23, 2013

August 26, 1922 - December 23, 2013

Suddenly, on December 23rd Bunny left on her final journey. She was the beloved and only daughter of the late Minnie May Hoar and Wrightson Wight of Bowmanville, Ontario. A devoted wife for over 62 years to John Forbes Monroe, loving mother of Robin Lee (Larry), Murray and Cameron (Ingrid) and awesome ‘Nana' to Watson and Duncan McLeish, Lindsay and Morgan Monroe and David Monroe.

Lovingly remembered by family and friends, Bunny was born and raised in Bowmanville, Ontario. In 1943, she met and married her love. Following the war, she and Forbes settled in Ottawa where years were devoted to shepherding her brood to tennis tournaments, ski hills and visits to grandparents. She loved travel and adventure, visiting all 7 continents and more than 30 countries. Cross country skiing in the Gatineau, curling and tennis with her many friends were happy passions. She gave generously of her time to the United Church, numerous charities and was a tireless canvasser for the Cancer Society.

Her love, presence, humor and genuiness as a person, will be missed by all.

A private burial will be held at the National Military Cemetery, Beechwood. A celebration of her life will be forthcoming at a later date.
