Jean Sinclair

September 5, 1914 — August 30, 2014

Jean Struthers Joynt (neé Sinclair)
September 5, 1914 – August 30, 2014

She was our sunshine, our only sunshine,
She made us happy when skies were gray
Now it is time, to say our goodbyes,
God has taken Jean away.

On Saturday, August 30th, 2014, Jean was welcomed into Heaven by her loving husband Stanley, caring daughter Marilyn and Marilyn's husband Allen. Jean was also predeceased by her parents John and Florence Sinclair, sister Bessie (Tom), brothers – Peter (Gladys), Jack (Agnes), Bob (Hazel), Harry (Violet), George and Bill (Audrey). Left to treasure Jean's memory are her devoted daughter Lynda (Richard), her grandchildren – Kim, Jim (Gale), Jon (Tracey), Brian (Colleen) and Barry and her great-grandchildren – Shelby, Avery, Kent, Kristy, Brooke, Maya and Ella. Thanks are extended to friend Kay Denison, niece Shirley Williams, sister-in-law Betty Sinclair and their families for the many wonderful times they shared with Jean and Stan throughout the years. She loved her visits with cousin Evelyn Collins as well as those with her many nieces and nephews. Jean was very active in the Carlingwood Ladies Bowling League (for 50 years) and the Cameron Highlanders Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to sing, dance, bowl, knit and make shortbreads. Jean lived by the motto ALWAYS THINK OF OTHERS FIRST so at her 100th Birthday Celebration, the 120 people in attendance thought of Jean first by reminiscing about special times they spent with her. A most sincere thank you is sent to the staff of Riverpark Place Retirement Home for their love, kindness and tremendous care. You certainly enriched Jean's last few years. Last but not least, to Dr. David Finestone and his compassionate staff – your genuine interest in Jean throughout her life and more particularly in her last few days was certainly appreciated by her family. Friends may attend a visitation at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore Drive and Baseline Road), Nepean on Friday, September 5th from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, September 6th at 2 p.m., followed by a reception. Donations would be appreciated to Riverpark Place Retirement Home "Christmas Fund" or to the charity of your choice. In closing Jean would like to share part of her signature song ANYTIME:
"Anytime you're thinking ‘bout me, that's the time I'll be thinking ‘bout you.
So anytime you say you want me back again, that's the time I'll come back home to you."
ENJOY YOUR FRESHIES AND GAMES OF YAHTZEE, MOM!
