Green, Jean Leonora
Peacefully on April 7, 2014 at the Stillwater Creek Retirement Residence at the age of 92. Jean is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Arthur. Mom was a British war bride who immigrated to Canada after marrying her beloved husband Arthur in England in 1944. She accompanied Arthur on his many military posting across North America and Europe and lived a wonderful full life as the wife of a decorated officer. Jean and Art retired in Ottawa, where they raised their family in Crystal Beach. She was the proud and loving mother of Karen (Andrew), Bruce (Myrna) and Pete (Alison), grandmother of Christopher, Heather, Timothy, Jason, Amber, Samantha, Lindsay and Cameron, and great grandmother of Fisher, Cooper and Carter. We cannot say enough about the care Mom received at the nursing home and from palliative care over the last month. There are too many people to mention individually, but they all touched us with the way they made Mom comfortable and showed her compassion. Thank you all.
Jean will be resting at the Carp Chapel of the Tubman’s Funeral Home, 115 Rivington Street, Carp on Thursday April 10th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 3774 Carp Road, Carp, on Friday April 11th, 2014 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation, where Jean was a volunteer for many years.
