Jean Grierson

July 7, 1933 — September 2, 2018

Jean Marion Beamish, beloved daughter of James and Catherine Grierson, a long-time resident of Ottawa/Nepean, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Born July 7 th , 1933, Jean was well respected and known for her tireless volunteer work with the Kidney Foundation, Guide Dogs of Canada, Ottawa School Board (She was also a long time Trustee) and the P.C. Party. She worked with the Rent Review Board. As well, Jean and her husband Jack build up a family business J.M.Grierson of Canada where Jean was a buyer.

Jean showed her love of the Arts as a patron of Orpheus. She was also seen in numerous benefit productions at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club.

Jean was certified as a hypnotist and began to study for her pilot's license with friend Felicity.

She is pre-deceased by parents James and Catherine Grierson, daughter Lynda Jean Beamish and twin sister Joan Grierson. She is predeceased by sis-in-law Barbara McNichol.She is survived by daughter Catherine Beamish, son Richard Beamish, sisters Sheila Leckie (John), and Judy Dumsday (Gayle) and nephews and nieces Robert Leckie (Allie), Lisa Gravitz (Ricky), Dylan Dumsday, Travis Dumsday, Pam Caswell (Wayne), Robert McNichol (Denise) and Graham McNichol (Tomo) and brother-in-law Don McNichol.

Jean was an avid believer in Guide Dogs of Canada and anyone wishing may donate to Jean's favorite Charity.

Tubman's Funeral Home is entrusted with Jean's final wishes.
