Died in Ottawa on Sunday, July 1, 2018 aged 94 years. Jean was predeceased by her husband Rex in 1999 whom she can finally be with once more. She is survived and will be greatly missed by son Robert and his wife Judy in Edmonton, son James and his partner Kim in Ottawa, son Douglas and his wife Anne in Ottawa, son Andrew and his wife Carol in Edmonton. Grandchildren Katherine, Susan, Michelle, Heather, Nicholas, Christopher, Ashley, David, Madison, and Hunter, and 11 great-grandchildren. She leaves one brother Douglas of England. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Ken, sisters Winnifred and Dorothy,and daughter Elizabeth. Jean was born, raised and educated in London, England, and worked in London during the blitz and rocket attacks. She met her husband (Canadian Army) and they were married in East Dulwich, London on July 17 th , 1943. She came to Canada as a War Bride in 1944 with her eldest son, living first in Winnipeg, and then Toronto, Charlottetown and Ottawa. Jean became a true Canadian, and leaves behind a legacy of service in the communities in which she lives. She contributed greatly to C.G.I.T Sunday School, Girl Guides, Brownies, Scouts, P.T.A. and various school activities. She was a member of the I.O.D.E. in Winnipeg and Charlottetown. She collected for various charitable organizations. She was an avid knitter and gardener, and cared deeply about her family and served them with dedication. She inspired many with her creativity, knowledge and boundless energy, Jean was truly a gracious lady and she will be missed. At her request, cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
