November 8, 1947 – December 29, 2022

Passed away in the comfort of her home on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Richard Fournier and by her parents Gordon MacGregor and Dorothy (nee McLaughlin). Loving mother of Janet Thornborrow (Fred) and Dianna Fournier. Cherished grandmother of Brian and Charlie Thornborrow. Survived by her siblings, Jean Marshall (Ian) and Bill MacGregor (Christine Dennique). Fondly remembered by her best friend of over 55 years Loretta Cramp (Allan), and her nieces and nephews. Elaine will be missed by her extended friends and family.

Elaine grew up in Beachburg and went to high school at Pembroke Collegiate Institute. After graduating from the Lorraine School of Nursing in 1969 as an RN, she obtained special qualifications to work in the operating room. In 1974, she joined the operating room team at CHEO where she specialized in neurosurgery. She spent the remainder of her career there until retiring in 2008.

Elaine was an avid cat lover and devoted over 25 years volunteering at the Ottawa Humane Society.

She loved gardening, was a talented knitter, crocheter and stained-glass artist and loved to shower her friends and family with her beautiful pieces. In more recent years she has dedicated her time researching the family genealogy.

The most special times were spent together at the family cottage every summer with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 3-5 p.m. Donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society.
