A Life Well-Lived
Roy was born in Toronto on October 14, 1928 to parents Florence and Gordon. He died on November 16, 2024, a month after celebrating his 96th birthday. Roy was predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Ruth, in 2023 and brother Doug, in 2020. He is survived by brother Bruce (Jim), daughters Cheryl (Don), Leslie, and grandchildren – Gord, Allie, Campbell, and Georgia.
After a career in the commercial printing press industry, he and Ruth moved from Toronto to a retirement community in Wellington County in 1994, and then in 2015 to a retirement residence in nearby Elora. In 2024 Roy moved to Ottawa to be closer to family.
Roy was a devoted family man and had a large circle of friends – he was very active in his church and community. He was a kind, hospitable gentleman with an endearing sense of humour. Roy will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
His family would like to thank the wonderful people at the Peter D. Clark Centre in Ottawa – their kindness, care, and friendship were truly heartwarming in Roy's last months.
If you would like to make a donation in memory of Roy, please give, with gratitude for a life well-lived, to a charity of your choice.
