Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital, Ottawa at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Jason, grandson Justin, daughter-in-law Nathalie, and his brother Frank. Born and raised in Bolton, Lancashire, England on March 17, 1931, beloved son of Stanley and Catherine Isherwood, he lived in Bolton until moving to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In his early years, he joined the British Royal Marines. With the British Royal Marines, he travelled the world, including stints in Malaya and the Canadian North West Territories. After proudly serving with the British Royal Marines, Mr. Isherwood worked as a chef in a hospital in Bolton where he also met his wife, Nancy. He and his wife moved to Ottawa, where he then worked as a chef for many years at the Skyline Hotel and then the Talisman Hotel. He later joined the Commissionaires where he worked with pride until his retirement. He not only took pride in his work, but truly relished the friends he made during his time working in his various jobs. Mr. Isherwood had a passion for the outdoors and for animals and was an avid fisherman. He loved the outdoors and loved travelling throughout the Canadian outdoors to see all the beautiful landscapes, forests, lakes and oceans. A passionate fisherman, he would frequently fish on the Ottawa River and Rideau Lakes. In his later years, you could always find him and his wife walking in Andrew Haydon Park. He will always be remembered as a tough, hard-working man with a big heart who loved his family.
