James George Fullarton (Nov 29, 1930 to April 24, 2020)
George died peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital early Friday morning. He was the son of the late John and Myrtle (Hossack) Fullarton. He is survived by his loving family-- Shirley, his wife of 60 years, his daughter Sonya (Phil), his son Jim (Nathalie), his grandchildren, Adria, Byron and Chantal Carrillo, his sister Mavis Cater (Max) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Helen Flinn, Elsie Saunders and Jessie Fullarton, as well as his brother John Fullarton.
George had a keen mind and a kind heart. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and loved poetry, history, fine wines and sharing stories with friends. He studied literature, history and economics at University of New Brunswick. He became a Chartered Accountant and had a long career with Revenue Canada Taxation.
The family thank sincerely the kind doctors and other health care workers who treated him with respect and care throughout the progress of his cancer. A special thank you to Dr. Howard Cohen, his family doctor.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in his hometown of Williamsburg, New Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, any donation to the Ottawa Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
