(b. January 19, 1921, Hawkesbury, Ont), son of Ethel and Earl Findlay, died on November 8, 2014, of congestive heart failure at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Bruce was the very beloved husband of Kathleen (Cunningham), married in Ottawa in 1947. A lifetime of love. Cherished father of Robin (deceased), David, Terry, Sharen (Jim Baker), Cindy (Bill Black), and adored grandfather of Steven (Krista McCarthy), Hailey and Drew. Survived by his dear sister Earla (Ned McCord), predeceased by his brothers Gordon (Isabel) and Bob (Lois). Fond uncle of his nieces and nephews. Bruce proudly served as an RCAF officer navigator in WWII and was a POW for 18 months, in Barth, Germany. He was a respected Professional Engineer who made his mark in the mining industry in his early career, and later at Carleton University and Public Works Canada. Bruce was known for his intelligence, compassion for others, his sparkling personality and ready wit. He is irreplaceable and will be loved forever. (at Roosevelt) on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church Westboro on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. Donations, if desired, for Dr. Burns’ kidney research.
