Barrett, James Arthur

March 25, 1938 – May 8, 2022

Our family has suffered the great loss of our beloved father and grandfather, Jim. He died peacefully on Sunday, May 8th at the age of 84. He will be so missed by his daughters Mary Barrett (Mark) and Bonnie Barrett. Jim was the much loved grandpa of Marc (Felicia), Jesse and Katrina (Julian) and great grandpa to Emmett. Jim will also be missed by his brother Rodger Barrett and sister Lyn Barrett Cowan and sisters-in-law Bonnie Miller and Peggy Blyth. Jim is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty, his adored son Charlie and his parents Charles and Kathleen Barrett.

Jim spent much of his career with the Federal Government’s Indian and Northern Affairs division. He was well known to his friends and family for his sense of humour, quick wit and love of music.

Friends may visit at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.) on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, May 26, at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at the Barrett home.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favourite charity in Jim’s name.
