James Allen (April 27, 1940 - August 4, 2024)

James "Jimmy" Percy Allen, age 84, of Ottawa, passed away on August 4, 2024, peacefully in his sleep. He was predeceased by his wife Sharon Allen, his father Percy Allen, his mother Jenette Lalonde and he leaves behind his children Gary (Tara), Mark (Michelle), Colleen (Sue) and his grandchildren Colin, James, Shawn and Samantha. "Jimmy" Allen was a proud Ottawa Firefighter for 39 years and renowned for a book he wrote about his experiences entitled "Extreme Heat: This Firefighter's Life" (2007). He was inseparable from the love of his life Sharon, who was a renowned crafter in the region. Jimmy was loved by so many and will be missed terribly but remembered fondly for his huge personality. The family sends special thanks to the caring and attentive staff at Extendicare Medex (1865 Baseline) who, in his words, "cared for him like a king" for the last 5 years. The family will be holding a private ceremony in his honor.
