Threader, Jack George
Born on June 9, 1928 and raised in St. Catharines, ON. It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Jack at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Friday, March 18, 2016. Beloved husband and best friend of Jean (MacDonald) his constant companion for over 65 years. Devoted father of Jeff (Wendy), Greg and Elizabeth. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Michael Sexton), Matthew, Kimberly, Melanie, Katie, Emily and Kristy. Jack was retired from the Public Service as ADM of Revenue Canada, Customs and Excise and was still actively following the political scene, especially in the US, where they wintered for over 30 years. A lover of the great outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and taking long walks in the woods at their cottage on the Madawaska River. He took joy in exploring untraveled grounds abroad with the love of his life Jean by his side. They shared many great adventures together. A true love story! His quick wit and outgoing personality were admired by all who met him, no one escaped a tease or two, even on his last day with the critical care nurses. He will be missed by many. Special thanks to Dr. Natasha and nurse Laura at the Ottawa Heart Institute for their world class treatment and respectful care. It meant the world to us! Friends may call at the
