Irene passed away peacefully on the morning of January 5th, 2021 at the Extendicare Starwood Long-Term Care Home in Nepean, Ontario.

Beloved wife of the late John Zinnicker and loving mother of Ronald (Lynette) and Douglas (Janet). Irene will be dearly missed by her granddaughters, April (Tony), Karrie (Robb), Donna (Don), and her great grandchildren, Devon, Chloe, Dominic, Jacob, Aliyah, Maiya, Ashley and Sydney. She will be remembered in the hearts of her family forever.

Born in Greenfield Park, Quebec, Irene moved to the Ottawa area in 1965, where she spent the remainder of her years. A strong and independent woman who always put others' needs ahead of her own, Irene’s kindness and generosity ensured she made friends wherever she went.

The family is grateful to the community of friends she held so dearly. In particular, to Patricia O’Regan and other close friends whose constant support was so cherished by Irene.

Our sincere thanks to the staff at Extendicare Starwood for their exceptional care during challenging times.

Respecting Irene’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.  Interment will take place at Capital Memorial Gardens at a later date.
