Irene quietly slipped away on January 7, 2014, leaving behind a lifetime of wonderful memories. She was the beloved wife of the late Sydney Shepherd and was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Annie (Silverson) Gill, and her eight brothers. Dear mother of Sandra Crossfield (Brent) and Carol Shepherd-So (Kin), special Gram to Kimberly, Liam, Darren, Christian and Stephanie and great-grandmother to Logan, Sydney and Molly. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Betty Holtby and Norma Tryhane. Irene led an active life well into her 80s, enjoying skiing, golfing and bridge, hosting dinner parties and travelling to many places. She was a life member of the Crescent Chapter of the Eastern Star. Heartfelt thanks to the 2nd floor staff at West End Villa who cared for Irene during the past six years.
