H. Elizabeth(Beth) Scothorn (nee McGuirk), born in MacTier, Ontario December 1, 1924 died in her home in Ottawa of natural causes on February 15, 2020.
Predeceased by her husband of fifty-six years, Arthur Dalton Scothorn(2009), her sister, Alethea Snelgrove(2015), her brother, Thomas McGuirk(2001), brothers-in-law, Edwin Snelgrove and Charles Scothorn, sister-in-law, Margaret McGuirk and nephew John McGuirk.
She is survived by her two children, Pamela Elizabeth Scothorn and Paul Arthur Charles Scothorn(Lillian Chow), as well as two grandchildren Jonathan Scothorn and Erin Scothorn.
In her salad days Mum was a member of the alto section in the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir conducted by Sir Ernest MacMillan with whom she proudly went to Carnegie Hall. Mum sounded like Kathleen Ferrier.
At her direction cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will now take place at Glebe-St. James United Church on Saturday, October 1st , 2022 at 2PM.
