Helen Marjorie Sheppard (nee Jago)

Passed away peacefully in Ottawa on Monday 6 April 2015, in her 91st year, with her family by her side. Dearly beloved wife and best friend of Mervyn Sheppard and loving mother to her son Michael (Barbara Ramsay) and daughter Jane (late Vern Hicks). Proud grandmother of Laura (Pat Begley) and Alex Sheppard. Dear sister of Ralph Jago (Anne) of Brockville. Predeceased by her sisters Mary Kolokoski (Walter) and Patricia Jago and her brother David Jago (Evelyn). She was the much loved sister-in-law of late Gordon Sheppard (late June), Lois Brownlee (late Eldon) and Avis Brownlee (late Ron). She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Helen was an avid amateur astronomer and voracious reader and in earlier days very much enjoyed travelling the world with Vyn. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Dr. and Baseline Rd.) on Wednesday, 8 April 2015 from 7-9 pm. A church service will be held at St. Martin's Anglican Church, 2120 Prince Charles Road, Ottawa on Thursday, 9 April 2015 at 11:00 am, followed by cremation. Interment at the Holy Trinity Cemetery, North Gower in the later spring. Helen's family is deeply grateful for the kind and professional care provided by the many staff of Riverpark Place over the past three months. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Parkinson's Society or the Epilepsy Society of Ottawa.
