Dunbar, Helen Marion (nee Ralph)

June 30, 1931 – May 2, 2023

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in her 92nd year, following a battle with cancer.  Loving wife of George Horace Dunbar (deceased in Feb. 2008).  Loving mother of Anne (Alan) Johnstone, Garry (Elizabeth Young) Dunbar and John (Kim) Dunbar.  Grandmother of Kevin (Heidi) Johnstone, Emily (Mike Cormier) Johnstone, Laura (Steve Michel) Dunbar and Chris (Kate) Dunbar, and Tiffanie Sabourin and Ashlea (Jesse) Lafontaine.  Great grandmother of Cambria, Avia, and Zephyr Johnstone, McKenna and Hudson Dunbar, Amelia Michel, Brooklynn, and Cassidy Sabourin, and Damien and Savannah Lafontaine.  Predeceased by brothers Harold (Marian) Ralph, Garnet (Lois) Ralph, Gordon (Dorothy) Ralph and Preston (Katharine) Ralph.  Aunt to many nieces, nephews, and their families.

She worked over thirty years as a legal secretary and office manager for three prominent Ottawa lawyers.

A visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean (between Bayshore & Baseline Rd.) on Monday, May 8th from 1- 2pm followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed for the Ottawa Cancer Foundation or to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
