June 1981 – April 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce Heather’s untimely passing. 

Heather adored her fiancé Vince, especially when taking responsibility for taking a hook out of a fish’s mouth, or even off her finger! She was a loving mother to Lillian and Kenneth; dear sister of Robert; cherished daughter of Kathryn and Wayne; and loved by Auntie Angela and Uncle Jerry. 

She enjoyed rowing, canoeing, camping, fishing, softball, skating and gardening. In all of those (with perhaps the exception of gardening) her competitive spirit was as strong as her tough character.
 
Heather, and her big beaming smile, will be sorely missed by her many friends. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday May 5th, 2 pm at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd). 

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Heather’s name may be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation for Cancer Research, The Friends of Algonquin Park, or the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ottawa Branch.
