GRIFFITH, HEATHER ANN

On Sunday, February 8, 2015, surrounded by loved ones at the Ottawa Civic Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, in her 74 th year. Heather Griffith is the beloved partner of Neil Sealy, cherished mother of Jeffrey (Marie) and adored grandmother to Dylan and Ethan Goyette. Heather will be forever remembered by her sister, MaryLynne (Bradley). Heather was the much-anticipated daughter of deceased parents Lora Kathleen (nee Smith) and Lawrence Theodore Griffith and the chosen eldest daughter and sister to her mother's second family with deceased Bruce Warner Coldham that included Nancy (Don), Katherine, Michael (Marcy), Karen and Melanie. Family is what defined Heather. She let the best of family values and family dynamics ensure she kept all feeling and knowing they had her unconditional love. Heather always knew the right thing to do and the correct thing to say. Family and friends were guaranteed a hand-picked birthday card that would arrive just in advance of your big day with a hand-written note and reminder of why she thought you were special. Her son Jeffrey was the love of her life closely followed by her grandsons, but she made sure all felt equally supported by her boundless compassion. Heather made families from clusters of friends and co-workers. After starting work with the Victorian Order of Nurses, she had a wonderful career in the federal public service where her characteristics of loyalty, hard work and attention to detail made her the ideal administrative assistant for those she served in the Privy Council Office, Cabinet Ministers and senior bureaucrats in major departments. Heather Ann Griffith can't be replaced, but family finally agreed to let her go. Cremation with interment following in the Spring at Notre Dame Cemetery on Montreal Road, Ottawa, with a private, family-only service.
