Proud local dairy farmer from Carp passed away peacefully in his 85 ^th year at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Saturday January 10 ^th with his son and his daughter by his side. Beloved husband of Marjorie. Survived by his loving children Carolyn, and Stephen (Doris Couvieau) and their mother Margaret Munro. Predeceased by his son Phillip. Dear brother of Edna Baird (Gordon), the late Donald (Ruby). Step father of Maureen Acres, Vernon Acres (Lisa Nielson), and Lianne Acres-Hanna (Kevin), Charlene Acres (Doug Bundgaard), and Shelley Acres. Proud step-grandfather of Connor, Kane, Carter, Samantha, Alex and the late Mercedes. Dear godfather of Kim Thomson. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Harold was born in Cyrville, ON where he farmed until 1967, then moved to Carp and continued farming. Appreciation for the loving support from his niece Sharon Roper and family friend Virginnia Pratt. Special thanks to the staff of the ACL Unit at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Friends may call at the Tubman Funeral Home Carp Chapel, 115 Rivington St. Carp on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Carp on Wednesday at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ottawa would be appreciated.
