Passed away peacefully in hospital on February 15, 2019 at the age of 93. Gwen is survived by her daughter Sue (Paul Lagasi) and her granddaughters Alisha (Samuel Seaman) and Zoë, as well as many pets - Sadie, Georgie and Riley - who loved her attention. She is also survived by many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond and her brothers William (Janet) Easson and Philip (Ferne) Easson.
Gwen was a proudly independent woman. She attended Acadia University and, after obtaining her degree, she moved to Montreal to work. She traveled extensively throughout her life, was an active member of her church and did volunteer work for many years. She lived her 93 years to the fullest and was blessed with a wonderful life. She was well-loved by the many people who knew her and was appreciated for her generosity, patience, kindness, wonderful baking and avid quilting. She will be greatly missed yet her family is grateful for the many wonderful years that they were able to share with her.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation, directed to senior care or the ACE unit, would be appreciated. They provided excellent care to her during the final days of her life for which we are very grateful. Friends and family are invited to visit the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Bayshore Drive and Baseline Rd) on February 21, 2019 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The funeral will be at same location on February 22, 2019 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception.
