Gwendolyn Brown

The family of Gwendolyn “Gwen” Nowell Brown (nee Jones) originally of Montreal, Quebec, announce the passing of their beloved matriarch. She stepped into eternity peacefully with her family by her side on July 4, 2023 in her 82nd year at the Civic Hospital. She displayed true courage and resilience in every step of the journey.

The light of late husband Rodney’s life for many years. Cherished mother of Randy (Henny) of Bala, ON and Rhonda (Floyd). Admired grandmother of Brysen (Samantha F.) and Madison (Jake M.). Loving daughter of Noelene (nee Willan) and John Jones (predeceased). Aunt to many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law to the five Brown siblings (Reginald, Russ, Robert [dec.], Roy, and Judy.)

Gwen graduated as a registered nurse prior to becoming a mother and home daycare provider to a group of children in her neighbourhood of Brittania. 

A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Crystalview Lodge, and the staff at the Civic Hospital.

We will gather in the memory of Gwen at Tubman Funeral Home, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean, on Sunday, July 16th. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm, - 1:00 pm, Chapel service from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, and a reception from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Internment at Pinecrest Cemetery will be a private family affair.
