Gordon Le Gard

With sadness the family announces the passing of Gordon (Gord) Charles Le Gard. Gord died peacefully in the hospital with his wife present on 04 January 2021, at the age of 91. He was born on the 22 August 1929 to Henry Charles Le Gard and Susan McCurdy in North York. Sibling to Dorothy Graham, and Leonard Le Gard, and father to Catherine Lapointe (married to Luc Lapointe), Barbara Knapton (married to Christopher Knapton), David Le Gard and Douglas (Rusty) Le Gard (married to Tracey Mahoney). Grandfather to 9 grandchildren and great grandfather to one.  Gord grew up in Toronto, Montreal, London and Ottawa. He was married to Wendy Brooks in 1952. The couple lived in the Outaouais region. Worked for 38 years at the Eddy Mill as a Paper Maker. He retired in 1988 to live at Thorne Lake, Que.  He is predeceased by siblings Dorothy Graham and Leonard Le Gard and daughter Catherine Lapointe.  Thank you to the staff of the A.C.E Unit at the Queensway Carleton Hospital who provided excellent care for Gord during his final days.  There will be a formal burial in the Spring-Summer.
