Gordon Graham

September 9, 1937 — February 27, 2014

Long time employee of the CBC
It is with regret and extreme sadness we announce the passing of Gordon on Thursday February 27, 2014. Now at peace after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Betty Rose (nee Ault). Devoted and proud dad of Mike (Allison), Rob (Arlene) and Steve (Kerry). Cherished and loving Grandpa of Marc, Jesse, Kenny, Janelle, Justin, Tyler, Ashley, Evan, Mackenzie, Brady and Ellie.
Gord was the son of the late Evan and Irene (Howes) Graham. He is survived by his brother Stanley (Louise) Graham and sisters Barb (Ed) Graham, Diane (Lorne) Leneghan and Linda (Harold) Hartin. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters in laws and his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sisters Lois, Lee, Velma, Enid, brothers Keith and Clayton and his sister in law Patsy Ault.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Gordon graduated from the Ottawa Technical High School and then from the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology. He spent his career working as a technician for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and also enjoyed dabbling in real estate.
Gord spent over fifteen years coaching Nepean Minor Hockey and Lacrosse as his three sons were growing up. He spent several years enjoying curling and square dancing. Gordon also enjoyed some time travelling and cruising, his favourite being his trip to Scotland in 2012 to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary and learn more about his Scottish heritage.
The highlight of Gord’s life was playing with his grandchildren. He loved taking them to the parks and museum’s and swimming in our pool with them. He also enjoyed reading to them and having sleepovers. Gord also enjoyed spending time at our cottage in Calabogie where he loved canoeing, boating and swimming or just watching the kids fishing, tubing and kayaking or simply sitting and reading in the sunroom.
